Can I use Creative Market fonts in Canva?

Depends

Creative Market fonts: yes, into licensed users' own cloud design accounts. MyFonts fonts: no.

Creative Market's desktop font EULA has a 'Cloud Design Apps' clause that lets each licensed user upload the fonts to cloud-based design accounts they control. Canva isn't named, but it is a cloud design app. MyFonts takes the opposite position and says none of its licences permit using fonts in Canva. Fonts bought elsewhere depend on their own EULA.

What this means for client work

  • Upload the font to your Canva account only. Sharing it through a Canva team or brand kit with people who aren't licensed users goes beyond 'used only by the Licensed User[s]'.
  • If a client's whole team designs in Canva, they should buy a licence that covers their users.
  • Canva's own library fonts are covered by Canva's licence; see Canva licence answers.

FAQ

Does the Creative Market licence mention Canva by name?

No. It allows uploading to 'cloud-based design application accounts controlled by the Licensed User[s]'. Canva fits that description, but it isn't named.

Why can't I upload MyFonts fonts to Canva?

MyFonts says uploading to cloud-based or server-hosted platforms, including Canva, extends the fonts beyond the licensed desktop environment.
